The 5D is highly regarded for its stellar image quality, excellent dynamic range and low light capabilities, having opened up a whole new market for Canon. Even though it is not really considered a "pro" camera - lacking the robust build and environmental sealing of the 1 series - many pros and advanced amateurs have found Canon's 5D to be a great bargain.
